About Me

About me…

I have lived in the local area for over forty years with my three children all attending the local kindergarten and schools. I utilised many of the facilities available in the area during their formative years and appreciated the numerous community amenities available to keep them healthy and entertained.  My aim is to ensure the Marion Council continues to establish and/or upgrade existing parks and facilities providing focus on open spaces for families and other residents to enjoy.

My passion lies in helping others and with a keen sense of social justice which led me to work in the area of mental health advocacy and support for fifteen years, providing support to families whose loved ones were impacted by mental illness.  I undertook this role as I wanted to make a difference and improve services.  This role led to me being a representative voice to many state, national and international forums.

I now find I have time to put my energy into my local community and by utilising my advocacy skills I want to ensure our council delivers the services our community wants.

I stand for social justice, human rights, equality and fairness

If/When elected for council I will:

*  Work collaboratively to deliver the community voice, especially in relation to
    community    development

*  Work to establish rate equality and potential rate reduction

*  Work to  sustainably address property development that impacts individual
     rate payers.
